(01) The story
It shows a living doll: someone who pushes down their own feelings and keeps reshaping who they are to make the people around them happy.
The soft pink against black is romance and its dark side. The long ribbons are the strings of a marionette, about control and losing your own will. The harnesses stand for feelings that are held back.
And then there are the masks, hiding what’s underneath. One is buried in layers of tulle and ruffles, as if the feelings are about to burst through. The other is cold, stiff black leather: everything shut down.
In the end it asks one question: how much of ourselves do we give up to be loved, to be accepted, or just to keep everyone else happy?
Theme: Self-suppression, emotional dependency, loss of identity and the pressure to fit in within relationships.
